Live at Volkspark, Germany, Sept. 71 (29:40) Esta banda se convirtió, probablemente, en el más popular acto en vivo de Alemania de finales de los setenta, debido a sus muy teatrales y bizarros espectáculos. Su historia puede ser rastreada hasta 1966, en una banda llamada CREW, de donde Stefan "Wildschwein" DANELIAK (vocales, guitarra), Joachim "Eroc" EHRIG (batería, percusiones) y Gerd Otto "Lupo" KUHN (guitarra, voces) eran miembros. Algunas grabaciones de aquellos tiempos son interpretadas en el tercer álbum solista de Eroc. Contando con Axel "Felix" HARLOS (batería), Bernhard "Bar" UHLEMMANN (bajo, flauta, percusiones) y Hermann "Quicksilber" QUETTING (teclados) como miembros adicionales, pudieron cristalizar su primer álbum, epónimo, a principios de los '70. –Dag Erik ASBJØRNSEN, "A guide to German Progressive and Electronic Rock". La actividad musical de GROBSCHNITT se mantuvo hasta 1989, donde se caracterizaron sobre todo por un gran sentido del humor en sus composiciones. Dentro del progresivo sinfónico espacial, este grupo marcó durante mucho tiempo una pauta a seguir. Sus cinco primeros discos son considerados todos clásicos. Su estilo es más natural en el ambiente progresivo con toda la grandeza del progresivo sinfónico. Sus trabajos son tan bien interpretados como los mejores en este rubro: YES, CAMEL, ATOLL, sólo por mencionar a algunos de mis favoritos. Se supone que después del quinto disco desviaron su creatividad hacia un progresivo más comercial. De cualquier forma, si puedes conseguir alguno de sus primeros cinco, ¡felicidades! Pero dentro de tu discografía que nombras, falta un disco que es buenisimo, yo lo tengo pero desordenado y estoy tratando de volver a conseguirlo, que es "The History of Solar Music" que son 4 distintas presentaciones del tema Solar Music en la decada de los 70's, interpretaciones que rodean los 50 minutos o mas con sus acostumbradas improvisaciones en vivo.
