It shows you a 3D map of how the sunlight vs shade will interact with all objects, even trees, based on their height! They use augmented reality with your actual phone's camera to overlay the position of the sun (or moon!) with where you are: This is extremely helpful if the sunset is officially at 8:30 pm, but falls below a treeline, or building, etc. earlier than that.
