Since its foundation in 2005 the band have released two records: the eponymous A Contra Blues (2008) and Chances (2013) and they have also recorded two promotional demos of their concerts in 2010 in Sala Salamandra (A Contra Blues II) and in 2012 in the Conservatorio del Liceo (En vivo). Tradition and heterodoxy live side by side in their repertoire, and both naturally come alive in the band’s fresh and seasoned performances of the classics as well as their own songs. The band’s performances boast both their spontaneity and carefully elaborated arrangements. Their energetic shows, sometimes up to 180 minutes long, are filled with strength, solidity and empathy.
