Se repite prácticamente la fórmula de su primer trabajo (In the Court of the Crimson King), con resultados diversos. Greg Lake, quien se va a ELP que tocaba el bajo y canta en algunas canciones es sustituido en este terreno por Peter Giles, hermano del batería Mike Giles, y canta sólo en tres temas.
