Big George Brock is a native of Grenada MS, who grew up near Clarksdale, doing hard work field that was the only job opportunity for many residents of this agricultural area. In the 2006 film "Hard Times" visit the plantation where he worked and describes how difficult it was the work of picking cotton.

Big George Brock Brock began playing the harmonica when he was a child and as a teenager began to rise scenarios weekends. Brock says: "The blues grew like grass of the earth." That's the kind of places where musicians acquire the magical ability to sing the blues - and where they leave for better opportunities otherwise. Brock moved to St. Louis when he was young, and played in several major blues clubs.
He led a band that kept the tug of war with a regular gig for many years at a club called Climmie Western Inn. He has played with many of the "big names" of the blues, like Muddy Waters, Albert King, Little Milton, and Jimmy Reed, but his own bands were what's been his greatest interest.
