Paul Butterfield Revisited is a band formed by the son of Paul Butterfield, Butterfield and Jimmy Vivino Gabriel. There is no better tribute to the music of Paul that this band.
Gabriel Butterfield is the eldest son of the late, great Chicago harmonica player Paul Butterfield.
Paul was the first white harmonica to develop an original style and powerful enough to place in the pantheon of great bluesmen really! It is impossible to overestimate the importance of Paul Butterfield doors opened. His first recordings of the mid-60s - featuring the legendary first edition of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band (Elvin Bishop, Michael Bloomfield, Mark Naftalin, Sam Lay & Jerome Arnold), racially integrated - were eclectic, innovative offerings that fused blues electric with rock & roll, psychedelia, jazz, and even (in classic east-west) Indian classical music.
