He played the blues with passion. Quick as few and penetrating as his own.
The man with six fingers never became a star and had no radio hits. For over 30 years he played with his band in Chicago bars and parties where everyone knew him and he knew them all. The man with six fingers had, perhaps, one of the first power trio of history and wrote memorable songs ... but fame (although more than fame, recognition) came when he was already dead.
