Sinopsis

Adam Lerner es un joven de 27 años que a lo largo de su vida siempre ha reputado de poseer buena salud y excelente aptitud física. Un día, en una consulta con su médico, Adam es diagnosticado con un extraño tipo de

cáncer. Algo desorientado, le comenta lo sucedido del diagnóstico a Kyle, su sincero y bromista mejor amigo, a su novia Rachael, y a su madre Diane, quién también es la encargada de cuidar a su marido Richard, que padece mal de Alzheimer. Cada uno de ellos tomará la noticia de una forma diferente a la del resto, y todos de alguna manera u otra ayudarán a Adam a afrontar la situación por la que está pasando, incluyendo Katharine ("Katie"), una joven y novata médica que fue asignada por el hospital a Adam para contribuir en el proceso terapéutico que debe llevar a cabo.
