    Resident Evil 5 es la secuencia de la franquicia de renombre que creó el género de "survival horror" (acción con elementos de terror). El título sigue un mecánico muy similar a su predecesor, con un sistema de transmisión y su objetivo es ayudar a combatir. Los enemigos, por lo tanto, será más rápido, más inteligente y numerosos.

     

    La trama esta vez está sucediendo en Somalia, un pueblo situado en un desierto. El protagonista, Chris Redfield (el mismo que el primer juego de la serie), un miembro de una organización e investiga los extraños sucesos que ocurrieron allí diez años después de los sucesos de Raccoon City - narrado por los primeros tres Residente Evil.

     

    La principal innovación aplicadas en Resident Evil 5 es como Chris reacciona a su entorno. Cuando nos exponemos al sol durante demasiado tiempo, por ejemplo, usted comienza a tener alucinaciones, y que pasa bruscamente de un ambiente donde la iluminación es muy brillante a un lugar oscuro (o viceversa), la visión se ve afectada por unos momentos.
