Los Red Hot Chili Peppers es un grupo californiano fundado en 1983 que combina funk y rock. Es otro de los grupos de rock que despuntaron en los 90, atravesaron varias barreras musicales y fueron muy originales, creando su propio estilo de música de rock explosivo. Red Hot Chili Peppers se formó en el contexto de una cultura underground nacida a principios de los 80 en California, que se caracterizaba por la recuperación de los grandes clásicos del funky por una incipiente cultura del hip hop. Los Red Hot Chili Peppers no saltaron a la fama hasta llevar ya un buen número de conciertos a sus espaldas y una ganada reputación fuera de los circuitos comerciales.
