AnyDesk 9.5.11 + Portable

AnyDesk is a comprehensive software solution that was developed to provide you with an alternative means of remotely accessing a computer, enabling you to work with various files and documents from afar.

Connecting to a computer remotely is surprisingly accessible nowadays. All you'll need is an app to use, a code to paste into said app, and perhaps a good enough latency for the connection. Of course, much of this would not be possible without competent software solutions, and luckily, we're good on that front.

AnyDesk is perhaps a name you'll hear when looking up remote connection tools. Should you consider it? I would argue it marries form and function by providing a program that is easy to pick up by anyone, which makes this a proposition at least worth taking into account.

Launch and connect
The implementation here is in itself a highlight, because users don't necessarily have to go through the setup process to get started with everything. Launching the downloaded executable will let you connect without any further engagements: become the host by inviting another computer, or be a guest yourself.

I find the pop-up that appears when accepting a connection to be very well implemented. In short, the host is able to quickly select their preferred profile for the connection, each with its own privileges. For instance, Screen Sharing is just that: a profile where the guest can observe the actions of the host and nothing more.

You may also customize a profile yourself before accepting a connection. As such, you can toggle keyboard and mouse access for the guest, prevent them from sharing files, allow session recording, and so on.

Remote control
Once connected - and depending on the prerogatives set by the host - you'll be able to more or less control their machine. The top bar houses various controls that can be used to operate the remote computer to achieve your goals: a file sharing utility is built-in, and the whiteboard feature can help facilitate communication in a way the provided chat may not be able to.

Don't forget to check out the Settings menus, though. Some options may be worth looking into, depending on your use case. Manage your privacy and security, modify display settings if something's not working out, and more.

A solid choice, even if the Free version is subject to some limitations
I had a good experience with AnyDesk. It's a tool whose approach to remote connections is modern and intuitive, but with enough room for configurability for anyone interested. The Free version does have limitations that some power users may be after, in which case, purchasing a license would be recommended.
