Jampatu Geobiocultural Landscape by Diego Velasco, Claudio Ardohain, Fernando Jara
English | November 19, 2024 | ISBN: 994248008X | PDF | 10 Mb
Although we believe that the name Ambato has a traditional origin, we know that it is most likely a deformation of Jambato or Jampatu, an endemic Andean amphibian in the cultural micro region of the current city, survivor of the great cataclysm of the 1940s.

On the other hand, Jampatu is still the name of an Aymara aconstellation of the same origin of the population of that thriving territorial entity that took that name, symbol and announcement of rains and fertility for their children.
Diego Velasco Andrade.
