The pianist, who survived two bouts of Leukemia as a child, explains, "Composing [the EP] at 33 has forced me to reconcile my intense desire to avoid past trauma with the reality that having gone through all that really does make my following accomplishments even more meaningful." And while Ecker's use of tough times to make art is hardly novel, he nonetheless challenges himself to uplift while confronting troubling memories. "If I can rebuild a life after such life threatening and life altering experience, certainly I can rebuild from the anxiety and self doubt that propelled me to write this music," he adds. How to Rebuild could easily spiral into darkness, but this is a generally upbeat and resilient recording. A swirl of strings from a chamber group that's prominent throughout the EP opens "Prologue & Chapter I." Ecker's piano then sharpens its focus to lead into the bouncy and effervescent, "Chapter II." Drums and bass add depth, and their presence allows Ecker to roam through the aforementioned trauma. "Chapter III & IV" begins with a simple piano flourish before the song pounds the metaphorical pavement with a boom-bap beat. On "Chapter V & Epilogue"-the EP's most gratifying piece-strings re-enter and move freely to build to a piano solo. © Jeff Laughlin/QobuzTracklist:David Ecker How To Rebuild 202501 Prologue & Chapter I (02:53)02 Chapter Ii (02:51)03 Chapter Iii & Iv (04:07)04 Chapter V & Epilogue (04:47)⋆🕷- - - - -☽───⛧ ⤝❖⤞ ⛧───☾ - - - -🕷⋆️ David Ecker How To Rebuild 2025 [FLAC 927 Kbps] (85.79 MB)Turbobit Link(s)https://turbobit.net/1y491opnct9o.htmlRapidGator Link(s)https://rapidgator.net/file/6da5413964fd744af4c563536e6dc4f9/
