The Who's US Quadrophenia tour started on 20 November 1973 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. The group were nervous about playing Quadrophenia in America, after problems they had faced during the British leg of the tour. At the first show, Keith Moon passed out after being given strong tranquilizers by a fan. The concert is completed with another crowd member filling in for Moon on drums. The remainder of the US gigs were successful. Their final US concert at the Capital Centre, Landover, MD, on 6th December 1973 is among their finest of the tour and is recorded for live radio transmission. Previously unreleased on CD however, this new release now features this remarkable concert for all fans to hear and indeed own for the first time.
