Not many albums can claim to have created a new genre, but with its fusion of metal, progressive rock, ambient textures, and acoustic singer-songwriter styled material, it became something of a blueprint for a generation of bands to come. It was also something of a breakthrough for the band, eventually going on to sell three times more than the band's previous releases. In Absentia features many of Porcupine Tree's most beloved songs, including "Trains", "The Sound of Muzak" and "Blackest Eyes". While not a formal concept album, many of the songs have common themes related to serial killers, youthful innocence gone wrong, and observations of the modern world, setting a template for many of songwriter Steven Wilson's future songs.01 - Blackest Eyes 04:25 02 - Trains 06:00 03 - Lips Of Ashes 04:42 04 - The Sound Of Muzak 04:59 05 - Gravity Eyelids 08:00 06 - Wedding Nails 06:33 07 - Prodigal 05:37 08 - .3 05:26 09 - The Creator Has A Mastertape 05:21 10 - Heartattack In A Layby 04:34 11 - Strip The Soul 07:17 12 - Collapse The Light Into Earth 05:47 Steven Wilson - vocals, acoustic & electric guitar, piano, keyboards, banjo Richard Barbieri - analog synths, mellotron, hammond organ, keyboards Colin Edwin - bass guitar Gavin Harrison - drums, percussion Additional musicians Aviv Geffen - backing vocals (on "The Sound of Muzak" and "Prodigal") John Wesley - backing vocals (on "Blackest Eyes", "The Sound of Muzak", and "Prodigal"), additional guitar (on "Blackest Eyes") https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D01JYdflODs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73O6L90El7chttps://xubster.com/users/10795/1523/Porcupine Tree
