The Fabulous Thunderbirds is a blues rock band, formed in 1974. After playing without much recognition in the area of Austin, they got a recording contract with Chrysalis Records and later with Arista Records.

The initial training had Kim Wilson on harmonica and vocals, Jimmie Vaughan on guitar, Keith Ferguson on bass and Mike Buck on drums.
