Sugar Ray Norcia (Norcia Alan Raymond born June 6, 1954, Stonington, Connecticut, United States) is an American singer and harmonica player of Blues and Soul Power. He is best known for his work with his backing band, The Bluetones, who has released seven albums since 1980.Norcia began to play his harmonica blues based in high school.
Once Norcia had moved to Providence, Rhode Island, he formed the Bluetones which ensured a residence as the house band at a local nightclub. They backed itinerant such acts as Grand Walter Horton, Big Mama Thornton, Big Joe Turner and Roosevelt Sykes at nearby clubs. During the latter part of the 1970s, the backed Ronnie Earl before leaving to join the band full room blues.
