The great OTIS CLAY.este Mississppi artist. Like other artists of r & b its beginnings are to be found in the Gospel, in his group The Voices Of Hope, and later in other groups in Chicago. Alli record for One-Derfull Records and began his musical journey away from religious music.
After a few small successes is signed by Atlantic for its subsidiary Cotillion recording issues Syl Johnson and Willie Mitchell. In 1972 he recorded his first album at Hi Records label founded by Ray Harris and Joe Cuoghi in Memphis and had among its ranks artists like Al Green, Ann Peebles, Syl Johnson, OV Wright and Jean Plum.
