El paisaje de un bello valle está repleto de una gran variedad de animales y el Lórax es el encargado de cuidar del bosque y sus habitantes. Pero un ambicioso enemigo corta un árbol de codiciadas trúfulas y amenaza con cortar aún más para hacer crecer su negocio. Años después, en un mundo sin árboles, el joven Ted se aventura más allá de su ciudad para conseguir un árbol de trúfulas como regalo para Audrey, la chica que le gusta.
