La personalidad de Mr. Bean raya la estupidez absurda, aunque sólo es “un niño atrapado en el cuerpo de un adulto”, con un cinismo y humor muy elegante, definitivamente inglés, además de muy agradable, divertida e incluso ingenua y malvada algunas veces.

 

Vive en su pequeño apartamento en el norte de Londres (Inglaterra) con su osito de peluche Teddy y su automóvil Austin Mini color verde lima y negro con candados en las puertas. Mr. Bean habla muy pocas veces y cuando lo hace es siempre con pocas palabras y voz grave pero divertida. Tiene una novia “normal” (Irma Gobb) que a pesar de su banalidad lo adora y lo odia a la vez.

 

Su nombre y su profesión nunca fueron mencionadas ni por él ni por sus creadores. El humor de la comedia viene en gran parte de las originales y excéntricas soluciones que Mr. Bean encuentra para resolver sus problemas y su indiferencia total por solucionar otros.
