La vida de Jack (Adam Sandler) era prácticamente perfecta, salvo un atormentador detalle: Jill (Adam Sandler), su hermana gemela. Cada año se ve obligado a tolerar la visita en Acción de Gracias de su agobiante hermana, que se especializa en poner sus vidas patas arriba en cuestión de días. Cuando la intrusión de fin de semana se alarga al mes, comienzan las típicas peleas, bromas y discusiones de hermanos gemelos. Cuando todo parece indicar que Jill se piensa quedar, Jack emplea sus artimañas con la esperanza de que Jill vuelva al lugar que le corresponde: al otro lado del país.
