Driver (Ryan Gosling) es un conductor especialista de cine por el d?a y un conductor para fugas por la noche. Pero no importa el trabajo que tenga que hacer porque Driver se siente siempre a gusto detr?s del volante.

 

Shannon (Bryan Cranston) es mentor de Driver a la vez que su jefe. Desde que se dio cuenta del talento de Driver al volante, le busca directores de cine y televisi?n del mundo del entretenimiento o a ladrones que necesitan el mejor conductor para sus fugas, pero llev?ndose una comisi?n en ambos casos.

 

Shannon siempre est? planeando la forma de hacer dinero y ahora quiere encontrar un coche de carreras que pueda competir en el circuito profesional. Dado que Bernie Rose (Albert Brooks) es el hombre m?s rico que conoce, y a pesar de que los or?genes de su dinero son bastante dudosos, Shannon le propone convertirse en su inversor. Despu?s de ver a driver en acci?n en la pista de carreras, Bernie Rose insiste en que Nino (Ron Perlman) sea tambi?n su socio.
