Dos años después de la despedida de soltero de Doug (Justin Bartha) en Las Vegas (Estados Unidos), el grupo viaja hasta Bangkok (Tailandia) para realizar la despedida de soltero de Stu (Ed Helms). Aunque a priori va a ser un viaje cultural, los chicos acaban saliendo de fiesta con el joven cuñado de Stu y a la mañana siguiente éste ha desaparecido. Así será cómo Phil (Bradley Cooper), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) y Stu salgan en su peligrosa búsqueda.
