Into the Black es un Box Set de seis discos lanzado como homenaje luego de la muerte de Kurt Cobain en 1994. Originalmente venia en una caja dura, incluyendo un folleto de 22 páginas. Varias grabaciones fueron rescatadas específicamente para el set y contiene una gran cantidad de material inedito, hasta el momento de su lanzamiento. La gran colección de 116 cortes incluye grabaciones demo, dos compilaciones hechas por la banda, el espectaculo dado en el Festival de Reading en 1992, y sesiones para la BBC en el Maida Vale Studios. El set también contiene dos conciertos en Seattle, el Halloween Homecoming de 1991 de la gira por América del Norte Nevermind Tour, y el ultimo recital dado en Estados Unidos de 1994.
