Ángel Macías, al frente de un equipo de nueve jóvenes estrella,s lanzó un juego perfecto, único en su clase y jamás repetido hasta le fecha. Esto convirtió a los 9 pequeños, tanto en México como en EEUU, en héroes reconocidos por sus amigos, su gente e incluso los mandatarios de ambos países; se ganaron el cariño y respeto de grandes estrellas profesionales de baseball de aquella época y se quedaron en la memoria y el corazón de miles de personas.
