SINOPSIS
Comedia negra que se centra en Caroline Wexler (Kat Dennings), una joven atractiva, ingeniosa e inteligente de 17 años que no tarda en darse cuenta que tiene pocas cosas en común con los pueblerinos que hay en su nuevo instituto. Tiene un affair con una persona con la que ha conectado, se trata de su joven y apuesto profesor, el Sr. Anderson (Josh Lucas). Pero esta relación empezará a empeorar cuando se da cuenta de que Anderson es una persona profundamente disfuncional que vive torturada por su misterioso pasado. Cuando Caroline decide poner fin al asunto y cambiarlo por un compañero de clase, el profesor hará todo lo posible por sabotear esta nueva relación. La caótica vida de Caroline se refleja en la histeria del pequeño pueblo, que ve como empiezan a crecer los rumores de un asesino en serie. En medio de una fiesta del instituto, que se convertirá en un gran disturbio, la vida de Caroline cambiará para siempre
