Como un verdadero homenaje a su reciente visita del maestro del violin, el frances Jean Luc Ponty he querido agregar este post, para dar a conocer su obra

Hijo de profesores de música, el violinista, Jean-Luc Ponty, empezó a estudiar seriamente violín, piano y armonía a los cinco años
A los diecisiete entró en el conservatorio Superior de música de Paris, y en 1960 gano su primer premio de violín.
Empezó a tocar en las orquestas sinfónicas como la de la "Conciertos Lamourex" entre 1960 y 1962. Su interés por el jazz le vino como consecuencia de su amistad con el violinista, Stephane Grapelli y en diciembre de 1961 entró formar parte del primer grupo de jazz cuando ingresó en la orquesta de Jef Gilson, con la que estuvo regularmente hasta 1964. Ese mismo año consiguió un importante éxito en el festival de Jazz de Antibes, lo que de alguna forma marcó su futuro profesional en los ámbitos del jazz.

En 1966 la revista Down Beat lo situó a la cabeza de los solistas con instrumentos poco habituales en el jazz. Toco en el Blue Note de Paris, en el club Camaleón con el organista Eddy Louiss y el baterista, Daniel Humair en un disco denominado Humair, Louiss, Ponty en Paris. Tras una breve estancia en los Estados Unidos, tocó con George Duke, (en el llamado The Jean Luc Ponty Experience with George Duke Trio) y con el famoso grupo del guitarrista Frank Zappa: "Mothers of Invention", y mas adelante con la Mahavishnu Orchestra liderada por el guitarrista, John McLaughin. Pese a su afición por la música pop, Ponty fue siempre fiel al jazz, encontrando en la música de John Coltrane su particular influencia. Aparte de su extensa carrera en solitario, también ha colaborado con gente como John McLaughlin o Chick Corea.

Desde 1975, Jean-Luc Ponty, está al frente de su propio grupo, y posee un virtuosismo que le permite colocar semicorcheas sobre tempos muy elevados, un fraseo rebosante de golpes de arcos enormemente ágiles y una capacidad de inventiva y de renovación melódica que le identifican rápidamente. Al violín eléctrico, se revela como un experto en la mezcla de sonoridades que utiliza la tecnología con parsimonia y ha descubierto sonoridades con su instrumento que resisten bien la prueba del tiempo. Este violinista, teclista y compositor francés, se alejó bastante pronto de la gran tradición violinista del jazz francés para confirmarse, en Estados Unidos, como uno de los guías del movimiento jazz-rock.

Nos ha visitado en varias oportunidades mas menos desde el 88, y tuve la oportunidad de verlo en la gira q realizaron en el 96 cuando se presentaron junto a Al Di Meola y Stanley Clarke en el estadio Victor Jara (en una escapada de conce a stgo)
y luego lo vi hace muy poco en un recital en el Teatro de la Universidad de Concepcion en un recital de lujo.

Más que buen gusto en la música. Un cierto encuentro con la música clásica y el New Age, pero más que nada un recuerdo a los que están haciendo este tipo de movimiento, muchos le deben. por decir, a los grandes del romanticismo, hablamos de los maestros de la música clásica que en sus tiempos los llamaban locos por lo avanzados que eran en sus tiempos.
