Description
Progress through the ages in an authentic world
Start empty-handed and learn to survive by foraging, hunting, crafting and fighting. Enter the Stone Age by chiseling primitive stone tools and sculpting clay to make earthenware. Go further by smelting copper for more powerful tools, crafting bronze alloys, learning how to work iron, and eventually mechanizing common tasks.

Very large, extremely diverse procedural worlds
Enter a huge open world inhabited by many cute, strange, dangerous and terrible creatures. Vintage Story uses a variety of procedural technologies to create extremely diverse landscapes, climates, and geological features to keep exploration fresh and exciting at all times.

An evil universe backed by original story elements
Take on the role of a lost being in the body of a tall blue being and discover the remnants of civilization. There is no linear storytelling here; it's up to you if you can find out who you are and what happened from the small amount of evidence left. During your journey, you will encounter wayward creatures, find old stories, battle temporal instability, and weather temporal storms.

Advanced Crafting Mechanics
The goal of Vintage Story is to turn all the crafting processes into an immersive world. You create stone tools by breaking individual pieces of stone, shaping pottery by placing small pieces of clay, and making durable tools by pouring molten metal or working hot ingots, voxel by voxel, on an anvil.

Geological Diversity
Every world you create has a lot of geological diversity. You will encounter:
- Dozens of unique earth shapes
- Various rock layers that contain certain minerals
- Areas that are rich, poor or completely devoid of certain minerals
- Huge quartz veins that contain traces of silver, gold and voids - cracks that can form large crystals
- Rare, crystallized versions of minerals
- Rare but huge domes of salt that can be used as an effective food preservative

Inspired by nature
Take care of your soil to grow healthy crops. Apply slow release fertilizer and old food compost. Cook any of our thousands of dishes and take care of your nutritional needs. Build a cellar for long-term food storage. Practice beekeeping, farming and animal husbandry, but don't forget to protect your farm from the local wildlife that is always hankering after free food.

Powerful engine
Over 1000 blocks high, multiplayer mode, WorldEdit tools, customizable worlds, easy to modify, created from scratch with modding in mind, standard survival modes are mods themselves, microblock chiselling, immersive mouse mode, model editor and animator, high graphic fidelity and ability to play on weak hardware.

Release Features
Added a login form that allows you to change the nickname and UID of the player.

Start order
Run VintageStory.exe.
Enter a nickname.
In the UID field, enter a long, unique sequence of characters. It will be your unique identifier in multiplayer and single player.

Client update
If you updated the client through a pop-up window in the game, then you just need to download the VintagestoryLib.dll file from the distribution to continue playing without checking the license.
