Installation instructions:

Welcome to Plucked Grand Piano – a library dedicated to deep sampling of plucked and hammer struck grand piano strings. The Plucked Grand Piano was created by public demand from our users, since its never been properly deep sampled before. We took a world class piano (same as our Bowed Grand Piano) through a humiliating process by recording every string with a custom pick, but with more emphasis on round robin (4 pr. string), since the playing style has a percussive quality to it.

The instrument is best described as a hybrid crossbreed between a harp, clavinet, guitar/lute and the unforgettable sound of the harpsichord. In addition we added a bonus hammer-struck articulation, using a custom miniature hammer. The sound has some resemblance to a hammered dulcimer. The fancy naming and branding of the piano is irrelevant to us. We want the samples and music to speak for itself and we hope it speaks to you too.

We captured every note, with sustains and release triggers, over multiple velocities and round-robin variations, using an massively over-sized nylon guitar pick for the “plucked” articulation.We then used a small 1-oz. stainless steel hammer to strike each string for the “hammered” articulation. Once we completed our little masterpiece, we tunneled even deeper into the sound, building-in a broad interface packed full of of custom performance, tone and effect controls to allow plenty of creative freedom. After spending so much time and effort searching out the right piano for our Emotional Piano library, we decided to keep it around for awhile longer.There were just some things that needed to be done to it. The unique thing about plucking or hammering a piano string that creates such a starkly different sound from simply playing it with the normal keys is that first, you only strike a single string, rather than the full choir of 2-3 identically tuned strings that a pianos hammer normally strikes to achieve the full sound typical of a piano. Even though the other strings resonate sympathetically with the primary string being struck or plucked, the sound is much more singular, focused and narrow, with more buzz and “wah” in the sound. It’s much more like a harp crossed with a gigantic 88-string guitar, yet completely unique. The purpose of this library was essentially to focus on the clean and most direct interpretation of plucked and hammered piano, presenting it as a massive ultra-wide-ranged zither/dulcimer-esque instrument, as a clean, fundamental starting point on what is becoming our long journey into the inner world of the piano.

Cricket
'Cricket' is a guitar playing technique that Metal / Rock guitarists frequently use on solos. By hitting the whammy bar, the tremolo unit vibrates very fast and it produces a very cool 'crying' sound like a cricket (insect).

Feedback
In actual guitar performance, you get feedback sound when a heavily distorted tone is played in front of (or a certain position from) the amplifier. V-METAL reproduces the feedback sound. The pitch and fade time of feedback can be changed.

Real Chords
The extensive number of the 'real' chord samples makes your guitar tracks very convincing. minor 3rd, major 3rd, 4th, flat 5th, 5th, #5th, 6th, octave add9, sus4, major 3rd vibrato with / without pinch harmonics, power chords (besides 5th-dyad chord), other special chords (= so-called 'Rush chords'), etc. Guitar chord sound that is emulated using single note samples does not sound real. Double-Tracking
'Double-Tracking' is a technique that is frequently used in recording guitar tracks. It gives the guitar track a nice, wide-spread stereo images and thickness. With V-METAL, you can reproduce it very easily just by loading the double-tracking instruments. No identical samples are played simultaneously in both channels. You don't need a stereo delay or tweaking your midi data to emulate the double-tracking.

Auto Stroke Detection
With SPM's Auto Stroke Detection feature, SPM automatically detects the current beat position and identify proper stroke direction (down or up). There are several stroke detection modes and you can also control stroke direction manually.

Assignable Key Switch
All the SPM instruments have Assignable Key Switch feature which enables you to assign any key switches to each SPM instrument. You can combine any SPM instruments to SPM multi as needed and assign key switches, and create your own SPM setting.

Low note samples included

For a while we’ve wanted to do a second tom library, taking advantage of the best sounding recording room in New York (well aside from Carnegie Hall). Using the same space, microphone setup and classic recording gear as with Drums of War we wanted do record “tom” ish sounding “toms” with multiple microphone positions so one could dial in a specific sound at will. Often when other tom libraries sit in the mix they have the tendency to not sound like toms, but more like large top heavy and unfocused drums (sometimes this is indeed fantastic to have). However we felt we needed, specifically, to at least have control over the close and far microphones to adjust the sound as needed in the track. We threw in the stage mics for good measure.

In Cinetoms 2 you will find three different types of patches:
* Full Microphone Master patch (Concert Toms – containing three microphone positions)
* Fully Mixed patches (Fully Produced and Mixed Patches – each containing unique audio samples)
* Presets and Multis (Singles and Multis based on the above two, enhanced with the Kontakt engine)

So if you want to dial in your own specific sound start with the Concert Toms, where within Kontakt you can modify microphone mixes (close, stage, far), 3 band EQ, Reverb, Tuning, Midi Mapping, ADSR and Group Panning (Toms Set 1 and Toms set 2).

Purrrfect Drums is the real solution to your midi drum track headaches. Provides all of the nuance and expressiveness of a real drummer in your studio without all of the difficulties associated with recording acoustic drums. These finely detailed samples were recorded with world-class mics, preamps, and A/D converters (i.e.: AKG C24, GML preamps, Swissonic AD96 A/D converters). Pro-level drums and cymbals were hand-picked for recording of these samples, such as Yamaha Recording Custom, Ayotte, DW, Premier, and Pearl, and Zildjian, Paiste, and Sabian cymbals. Each articulation consists of 16 velocity cross-switch samples, and is allowed to decay fully and naturally into the noise floor. To give you an idea of how extensive the library is, there is over 1/2 hour of ride cymbal decay, as well as 17 hi-hat articulations.

This came in GIG format, and was SO HUGE, due in part to way to many duplicated files. So, I gave it the good once over, and redone alotta mapping; But it all came exactly as it should be!

FractalMaker is really easy to use and very powerful. Just click anywhere in the Fractal Navigator on the right and a new fractal is rendered in the Fractal Previewer on the left using the current gradient and parameters. Click anywhere in the Fractal Previewer to center the fractal at that point. The guides are really useful for precise positioning.

Julia Fractal exploration uses an innovative approach by letting you click on a dynamically zoomable Mandelbrot Fractal, which then renders the parallel Julia Fractal in the Fractal Previewer. This also facilitates a visual understanding of how they are related.

Click the Zoom buttons to increase or decrease the zoom factor in 5x increments or specify a zoom factor in the textfield. The 4 SAM parameters give you a lot of creative flexibility and very small changes can produce radically different results.

There is an excellent Gradient Maker panel to let you create your own custom gradients to fill the exterior of the fractal. Use the Color Picker to choose RGB or HSB colors by colorRing, bar, slider or text entry for any colorstop in the gradient.

When you're satisfied with your fractal you can render it out at a larger size (up to 4096 x 4096 pixels) and more importantly with up to 4x4 supersampled antialiasing for the best results. Since the app is multi-threaded, you can start rendering a fractal to disk, and continue exploring new fractals simultaneously. The Installation

Turn on the computer,Insert the Mac OS X Install DVD into the optical drive, or insert the MacBook Air Software Reinstall
Drive into the USB port.
Press and hold the "C" key while the computer starts up. The computer will start up using the Install media.
Alternatively, press and hold the Option key at startup to select the volume containing the installer.

1) When the restart has completed, a welcome video plays, then country/region selection screen appears.

2) Select your country or region and click Continue.

3) Select a keyboard layout and click Continue.

4) A migration screen appears. If you wish to migrate your data from another Macintosh, see Migration tips and tricks. If you do not wish to migrate, or want to migrate later, select "Do not transfer my information now" and click Continue.

5) A Wireless Service screen appears if you have wireless services available within range of your computer. Select "On" and click Continue.

6) If the network is password protected, you be asked for a password when you select it. Type the password and click Continue.

7) An Apple ID screen appears. This is used to purchase content from the iTunes store. You can use MobileMe or .Mac usernames here as well. When complete, click Continue.

8) If you do not have an Apple ID or MobileMe account, click Continue to move to the next screen.

9) A Registration Information screen appears. You are not required to fill this out, but it is helpful if you do. When complete, click Continue and your product registration will be sent immediately.

10) If Mac OS X servers are available on your network, you'll be asked if you'd like to log on to them. If not, click Continue.

11) A Create Your Account screen appears. This will be used to create a User Account with Login ID and Password for you computer. You should remember this password. You'll be asked for it when you install new software or perform other administrative tasks on your computer. When complete, click Continue and your account will be created immediately.

12) A screen to select your user picture appears. Take a snapshot with the built-in camera or select a picture from your Library. When complete, click Continue.

13) A MobileMe screen appears. Select an option and click Continue.

14) A Thank You screen appears. Click Go to complete the Mac OS X Setup Assistant.

15) Eject the Mac OS X Install DVD by dragging its icon to the Trash.
